Privacy Policy

Socratyc, LLC, PO Box 1014, Skippack, PA 19474, is the data controller for the information collected through this site. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@socratyc.com or 610-707-5125.

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form or the project inquiry ("Start a Project") form, we collect the details you enter, which can include:

• your name, role, organization and its type, and website
• your email address, phone number, and WhatsApp number, depending on how you ask us to reach you
• the goals you select, your timeline, budget or investment range, and anything you write in the open text fields
• your preferred contact channel and the address or number that goes with it
• whether your inquiry is about a project or joining our studio, using the same form fields

Consent records. When you submit a form, we store your consent choices and the date and time you made them: your required agreement to this policy, and your optional choices to receive email notes and SMS or WhatsApp messages. We keep these records so we can demonstrate that contact from us was requested.

Correspondence. If you email, call, or message us, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and continue the conversation.

Device information. When you visit the site, we automatically collect information about your device and visit, including browser type, IP address, time zone, referring pages, the pages you view, and how you interact with them, through cookies, log files, and similar technologies.

Under the GDPR we must have a legal basis for each use. Ours are:

• responding to your inquiry and continuing the conversation you started (legitimate interest, and steps toward a contract at your request)
• reviewing career inquiries and contacting you about suitable studio opportunities (legitimate interest and steps toward a contract at your request)
• sending email notes and session announcements, only when you have opted in (consent)
• contacting you by SMS or WhatsApp, only when you have opted in (consent)
• keeping the consent records described above (legal obligation and legitimate interest in demonstrating compliance)
• operating, securing, and maintaining the site, and understanding which pages are useful (legitimate interest)
• detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud or misuse (legitimate interest and legal obligation)

You can withdraw any consent at any time by replying to a message, using the unsubscribe link in any email, or writing to us. Withdrawal does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and our correspondence:

• Lovable Cloud and Supabase, which host the site and store form submissions and consent records
• Mailchimp, which sends our email notes and session announcements to people who opted in
• Google Analytics, for understanding site traffic and usage
• Typeform and Google Workspace, where we use them for forms, email, and documents

Each provider processes information under its own privacy terms and only for the service it provides to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Your information is processed and stored by the providers named above, whose servers may be located in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where a provider transfers data internationally, it relies on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. If you would like to know where a specific piece of information sits, write to us and we will tell you.

We keep inquiry and contact information for as long as the conversation is active and for up to 24 months afterward, unless you become a client, in which case we keep it for the life of the engagement plus the period the law requires for business records. Consent records are kept for as long as we hold the related contact details, so we can show what you agreed to. When information is no longer needed, we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner, as described below.

Form submissions are stored in our hosted database with access controls that allow new submissions to be written but not read back through the public site. Access is limited to the people running the studio. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we choose providers with strong security practices and limit what we collect to what we actually use.

The notice on this site asks whether you accept cookies used to understand how the site is performing. If you decline, we record that choice in your browser and do not set those cookies. You can also set your browser to refuse cookies or delete the ones already stored; some features may not work as well if you do. We do not change our data practices in response to a Do Not Track signal.

This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If we become aware that we hold information from someone under 18, we delete it.

You may ask us to access, correct, update, delete, restrict the processing of, or transfer your personal information, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights are yours under the GDPR, and you may also withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Write to us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply and ask us to stop. SMS or WhatsApp messages stop as soon as you ask. We do not run targeted advertising, but you can opt out of targeted advertising generally through these portals:

• Meta advertising settings
• Google ads settings
• Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out

We may update this policy as the studio, our tools, or the law changes. When we do, we revise the effective date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be noted on the site.
